Media Kit

A media kit for Christian Heritage Month is a key resource for helping journalists, media outlets, and the general public understand the campaign, its significance, and how they can get involved:

  1. Overview of Christian Heritage Month

Purpose: To acknowledge and celebrate the historical and ongoing contributions of Christian communities to Canadian culture, society, and values.

Goal: The campaign seeks to have December officially declared as Christian Heritage Month across Canada.

Historical Context: The recognition of Christian contributions to Canada has often been overshadowed, but this initiative aims to ensure Christians receive the same recognition as other religious communities. Thirty-one municipalities across Canada have already declared December as Christian Heritage Month.

2. Key Facts and Figures

31 Cities: As of now, 31 municipalities across Canada have declared December as Christian Heritage Month.

Toronto’s Vote: The largest city in Canada, Toronto, recently voted on this historic motion.

Other Cities: Include cities like Ottawa, Markham, Mississauga, Vaughan, Regina, Red Deer, and Prince George, as well as communities like Okotoks in Alberta.

3. Timeline of the Campaign

This is not just an event; it’s a movement. We are committed to continuing this effort until the federal government officially recognizes December as Christian Heritage Month, and every province, city, and town joins in acknowledging the significance of our Christian heritage.
